THE BEGINNING
It all began April 15th, 2004. I made the decision I was going to travel the world all by myself. A lot of people talk about doing it, but never do. I made sure to walk the walk. I just recently graduated college and was ready to blow my entire savings on an adventure of a lifetime. I don't know what I was thinking when I decided to go alone, but I am glad I did. I lived like a nomad for over 100 days. I kept going east until I eventually made it back home with barely any money. Words cannot explain what this adventure was like. I will be posting pictures and stories from this experience. It's about time I did.
I flew out of Detroit in the morning to New York City. I met up with some old friends that happened to be in the city visiting as well. My first full day there was my 24th birthday. Not a bad way to spend it at all.
The first couple nights I somehow stayed on a top floor of the United Nations Hotel for free. This was the view of the city from the gigantic window.
Oh yeah, we had the corner room. This was the view from the OTHER gigantic window.

Rare sight in NYC. Empty subway.
